Job description: Involvement in clinical examination, handling and assessment overview of the animal, pet immunizations and deworming, blood sampling, radiographic, ultrasound tests. Participation as assistant in endoscopic procedures, castration-spaying, general surgery and more specialized (orthopedics and laparoscopic, such as castration, preventive gastropexy and dog holecystectomy) becoming familiar with the variety of high technology equipment of the clinic.

Research Project: Correct vaccination and deworming in dogs and cats, Case report: Lymphangiectasia in the dog, using endoscopic techniques (under process)

07/2013 Scientific Visitor, Laboratory Animal Section, The Royal Veterinary College, University of London

Visit description: One month practice, Modules 1-4 and joining the RVC’s team of Named Veterinary Surgeons (Designated Veterinarians) in their daily ambulatory practice, providing veterinary services to research establishments in and around the London area. This included visits to the College’s clients. Activities included routine husbandry and clinical visits, participation in ethical review of work, promoting the “3Rs”, observing clinical treatment of animals and advice regarding their care.

07/2013-present Authorized Veterinarian at the Laboratory for Research of the Musculoskeletal System (LRMS) of the School of Medicine, University of Athens, Greece

Job description: Supervisor of the Microsurgical Training Program of Doctors. This is a 10-week training program three times per year. Involvement also in various experimental protocols during the organization of the experiment, the maintenance of the animals, anaesthesia, surgery, blood sampling and processing, imaging (x-rays, DXA).
