Welcome to the webpage of the Laboratory for Research of the Musculoskeletal System (LRMS) of the School of Medicine, University of Athens, Greece.

The LRMS has been active for more than 30 years and, through its updated webpage, attempts to share its experience, its specialized knowledge and its educational programs in the area of Bone Metabolic Diseases with colleagues.

In parallel, its aim is to provide our readers with information on Bone Metabolic Diseases, with particular emphasis on Osteoporosis and Osteoarthritis. This includes general information, new knowledge on available treatments, as well as related advice on diet and exercise..

For these aims, the webpage is separated into two parts. One is devoted to the LRMS’ history, personnel, departments and the activities of the Laboratory. The other part is addressed in particular to doctors who desire access to the educational program of the LRMS, the current research protocols and the publications that have been produced from our research and clinical work. Additionally, doctors will have the possibility, should they desire, to directly contact the LRMS’ specialized personnel and discuss difficult or unusual cases with them.

We hope that communication with this webpage will be active, productive, pleasant and useful to all.
